How this actually works, and where it does not

I scope the work, I design it, and I stay your point of contact from the first call to the handover. That does not change as the job grows — you are never handed to an account manager who was not in the room.

What does change is who is awake. I run a small team across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and I route the out-of-hours and first-line work to them so that cover runs around the clock without the quality drifting. Building that rota, writing the runbooks it follows and keeping standards consistent across six time zones is a large part of what I actually do — and it is why the automation and monitoring work on the rest of this site is not theoretical.

Good fit: small and medium businesses, startups, sole traders and teams up to roughly fifty people who want one accountable specialist for the whole picture — infrastructure, software and support — rather than four suppliers pointing at each other.

Be straight with me and I will be straight with you. Heavily regulated environments that require formal certifications and a full audit trail of who touched what, or enterprise procurement processes with their own security questionnaires and insurance thresholds, are not what this is built for. If that is you, say so early and I will tell you honestly rather than write you a proposal.

How it usually starts: a conversation with me about what is actually breaking or missing, then a written proposal with a fixed price for the setup and a clear monthly figure for anything ongoing. No retainers you cannot leave.
